Recycle process for local authority council

Issue

A local council operates a weekly bin collection for the residents of its borough and sends the waste to be sorted at a refuse and recycling centre. LDPE black bin bags make up a significant portion of the waste that is disposed there.

Circular economy Local Authority

Exporting Material

The collection of the load of LDPE black bin bags was arranged with licensed waste carrier, and the haulier brought the material to our recycling facility. At every step of the process of handling and transporting the plastic waste materials we deal with, we are fully compliant with all relevant regulations at all times. This process is carried out in the most ethically way possible to ensure the maximum recyclability of the polymers.

Consultation

The council contacted Pakire Polymers to find out what we could to do streamline their waste handling process. We conducted a thorough site audit and informed them of the value of their waste materials and the best courses of action. We suggested that we could buy the LDPE black bags from them to recycle at our facility. Once this was agreed prices were negotiated and a purchase order was issued.

Output

We processed the LDPE black bin bags in our state-of-the-art recycling facility. We were able to achieve a high yield of recycled LDPE pellet that is of superb structural consistency.
